Production Management

Through many years organising major events such as the VJ Day celebrations on the Thames in 1995, the Hong Kong "Handover" firework display in 1997 and many others, Tom Smith has earned a reputation for efficient and cost effective management of large scale outdoor events.

Tom was commissioned to act as Production Manager for the Millennium Firework Display on the Thames - perhaps the largest outdoor event the UK has ever seen, with an estimated 2.8 million people attending. The roles included:-

• Transport of materials
• Risk assessment
• Liaison with PLA and harbour authorities
• Establishment of licensed site for rigging/derigging
• Operations manual production
• Classification and licensing
• Liaison with event organisers and HSE enforcers

Davas Ltd have also acted as consultants for the following events

• Commonwealth Games - Manchester 2002 - opening and closing ceremonies
• Olympic Games - Athens 2004 - opening and closing ceremonies
• London New Year's Eve 2003 and 2004
